On January 23rd, 2024, the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Joseph Geng Akech, marked a pivotal moment in South Sudan’s journey towards democratic governance at the National Constitution Review Commission (NCRC) Induction Workshop in Juba. Dr. Akech’s impassioned address emphasized inclusivity, urging Commission members to prioritize the nation’s aspirations over personal or political affiliations. Echoing President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s unwavering support, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to peace, unity, and territorial integrity.
With 70% of the population comprising youth, Dr. Akech called upon them to actively shape their country’s future through the constitutional process. This workshop signifies the government’s commitment to youth engagement, fostering understanding of constitutional principles and paving the way for a more prosperous and harmonious South Sudan.
